I'm very new to OBS, so I mostly understand the basics that I need to run things, as explained by our very excellent stage manager, but I'm honestly not sure what a lot of the settings do. I spent about two hours yesterday messing with settings without really understanding what I was doing, and nothing seemed to change. The audio is understandable, and it sounds better when we share something that is just talking, but when we share music, it sort of fades in and out very subtly with a bit of a crackle. This all works fine, except that we're getting a really weird and annoying audio distortion from the videos.

I have checked it out on loopback and it is not good at all. So, normally when you play audio from a browser on Windows it goes through the Windows audio stack (DirectSound or MME, not sure which) and it does Bad Things to your audio. VB Audio Virtual Audio Cable Input and Out put mixed up. you cant hear it because you are sending it out to the virtual audio cable instead of your default audio device (your speakers/headphones), this is how virtual audio cable works. I use VB Cable as a virtual microphone to capture the sound. Change your output in windows sound mixer to Line 1/Virtual Audio Cable. Virtual Audio Cable is a tool that lets you create a number of virtual audio playback or recording devices, so you can use them with any other program. I do this to share videos of music, hymns, and children's content. I'm using OBS with the Virtual Cam plugin in order to cast my OBS to the Zoom meeting. I also work at a theatre that does Zoom theatre, so my stage manager helped me get set up. I run my UU church's Zoom services on Sunday mornings.
